variegated leaf spots

Hi everyone,
What do you think these areas on the leaves of one of my catts are? I noticed them this morn. as the light was shining on them more than usual. By the way, they don't feel mushy. I would appreciate your opinions and advice.

Has it been cold? It looks a little like cold damage to me. Not sure though...

Yes, it's been cold for several nights...30s, 40s...but this orchid has been in my greenhouse with heaters, so the temp has not gotten below 60.

I have had some catts look like that for no apparent reason. Is the the discoloration on an old section of the plant? In that case, I would think it's just age and there's nothing necessarily wrong with plant. I have some catts that just look battle weary and have old discolored leaves on older rhizomes that are not actively growing yet the plants bloom beautifully. If it's otherwise healthy, it should be fine.

Yes, indeed the affected leaves are on an old cane. In fact, the entire plant is an older orchid. I am very relieved that you think the mottling is simply age. I'm always so paranoid of a virus. Before I asked my question to each of you, that was the first thing that came to mind, not because of virus knowledge (which I DO NOT have...luckily), but just because of my paranoia. More than any one orchid being virused, I am much more concerned that a virus might spread through part or all of my entire collection. Scary thought.
