I think I bought a Dendrobium

Hello I think I bought a Dendrobium. I felt bad for the ones sitting up on the shelf. It had two new growths on the bottom but the were rotted and came off. I repotted in an Orchid bark mix. I am wondering if I should keep it where I keep my Phals or does it require more light than that. Here are some pics of the orchid and where to possibly keep it.

Should I take off the canes that had leaves on them or leave them? Should I take the spike off? (The store where I got it cut one off and left the other.)

Yes that is a lovely dendrobium plant. The spike has begun drying out. Myself; I let the spikes finish drying before I cut them. It's up to you when you cut the spike (some don't like the way spent spikes look). And the window should be fine until outdoor temps warm up enough. Don't let your dendrobium get cooler than your phals, but you can let it have a more sun. Dendrobiums also like tiny pots. I have a few that are over three feet tall and still in the same size pot yours is in. The way to keep them upright is to put them in a clay pots as you have done. I would hold off on watering for a week or two, it will encourage new root growth.

Thank You! I am excited to see what the flower will look like. Most of the plants in front of the slider vacation outside from mid to late May until mid-September (depending on the weather on Long Island we're zone 7 I believe). I will leave the spike on, it doesn't bother me, I'm just hoping that I can get it to bloom eventually.

Yes you bought a dendrobium. I usually cut off the spike before the flowers fade and put it in a vase in the house, I don't normally cut off the spike of the phalaenopsis as it might rebloom or produce keikis.
