What a wonderful picture. Every time I see a close-up of such an interesting lip I think - what a great little landing pad for whatever insect pollinates this flower. It is just like a bright purple/red beacon to say -Here I am and here is the way in. It would be great to see what the lip looks like in ultra-violet to see what the insect would see.
