Judging by the vegetative growth, it appears that the light level is too low to develop the darker color. Without doing the research, the supplemental lighting is beneficial in initiating flowering in "long-day" plants, but I think the maximum light levels are what determine lengthening or shortening of vegetative growth, or the development of color intensity. The vegetative growth of your plant is indacitive of a lower than optimum light level.

While I prefer 'Dark Waters', yours is looking nice, Geoff. I would agree with Michael that -- judging by the leaf color -- it could stand a bit more light. I would also agree with the statements that higher light generally results in deeper, richer colors on catts. It has been my experience that Jewelboxes tend to grow 'floppy' quite often. What seems to help is to support/guide the new growths upward while they're still flexible. Once the growths have matured, the support can be removed.

The color looks about right for Cattlianthe (or Slc.) Jewel Box 'Scheherazade' to me, but this clone is rather variable in color depending on light intensity and temperature during bud development. In general brighter light and cooler temperatures mean more intensely colored flowers, though excessively bright light can bleach flowers out too. Based on the appearance of your plant I'd say it could take somewhat brighter light, definitely not getting too much, but it might be getting too dry at times too, so watch it closely for watering if you try brighter light. If it isn't getting down to 15C (59F) at night try cooler temps too if you can. It does look like a healthy vigorous plant and you're getting decent flower count so your culture isn't too far off. Yes it has filled the pot - as soon as I see some new roots I will give it a good clean up and some fresh compost , that will help.
As to light, the sun does not always shine in England ! But maybe if this one needs extra I will try hanging it up with my Vandas.
