Nice spike on your phal. and nice growths as well... I swear I have to learn patience:bouncy:
I swear im always looking for new growths and spikes, but even when I find one I grow impatient waiting for it to fully grow or for it to bloom >_<.
Sounds like me. BTW how long does it take since the orchids first spike to when they bloom. how much time???
Devan: It seems to me that new growth not only is usually needed for eventual blooms, but in and of itself it is a sign of the care we have given to contribute to the health and well being of another living thing. This in and of itself is something special. Kathi, I have not taken a flashlight to a sheath to see if its budding yet, but I probably will now! Anticipation usually adds to the rewards of our hobby. AL
Ohh man patience patience, the bad thing about this is that my plant' new spike is 4 inch long but it still has the old spike 2 and am afraid to cut that the other one wont bloom
I will, Kathi. The sheath is now 1 1/2 inches tall. No difference since yesterday. I have been talking to it in English, Malay and Hokkien (one of the Chinese dialects). I still have another 4 Chinese dialects to go. Seeing that it comes from Sabah, I may soon have to learn to speak Kadazan. Who says growing orchids is easy? Hehehehe

Looks like the PIXIE DUST is working...Congratulations, Devan! Betty :-)
