    Doug. I can't answer your question. But I also love Chocolate Drop and have two in my collection. I am not sure what research you have done about the orchid. Chocolate Drop came out in 1965. For this section you will have to go on line. The parents are C.guttata x C. aurantiaca. When you view the two parents. Chocolate drop looks like a lovely mistake.

    I could not find Chocolate Drop " Noit " HCC/RSPC, but I found Chocolate Drop " Nok " HCC/RSPC
    here: http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~azumino/cat_hyb.html (lefthand column, abt midway down)

    Wonder if that is what you are looking for?

    (I hope posting that link is OK since it doesn't appear to be commercial; it seemed better than pasting in someone's photo...)
