This is just about the smallest orchid I grow bloom and plant size. The bloom is a little smaller than an American quarter. Last year I had 6 blooms on it and twice as many abort in small bud stage. This year I am only getting two blooms off it and again had buds abort. I grow it cool, on the dry side and with low light. I also have it in a dish of pebbles for extra humidity,which I just tried this year thinking it would help save the buds. I would appreciate any information on getting heavier bloom from it. I really like the color and complexity of the flower.

I grew a Promenea orchid for years, but of course it too was mascaraed in the heat disaster last year. Bill, I grew mine right along (actually a bit under) my phal orchids. It got the same kind of light, food, and water/humidity as my phals and always bloomed. It was a tiny orchid. I am surprised we kept it alive for so long since it was so small. Really loved it. Yours is very pretty.

I had one and I made everything to save it, but unfortunately I didn't make it. Really don't know what went wrong, but I think that was not in the best condition ever since I got it. I've heard it doesn't like misting but if someone mist it must be dried as soon as possible. It is an entermediate grower but I've heard it likes a little more cold and not quite bright light (slightly less than Phalaenopsis). I think they are very particular about watering...they wrinkle at the slightest drying out, so never let it go dry between watering.
I do hope that next year you will not have fallen buds
