Of course Victorian looking greenhouses with all the ginger bread can easily be found and would still not be out of place with a Japanese garden. Tempt him with some 'tender' Asian exotic plants that could not otherwise take the Northwest winters. Last I am just throwing things out there so you can pick and choose, I do believe that Koi are long lived if their not eaten. A greenhouse structure would throughly protect them and provide a milder climate to them also. Good luck Naoki! AL
Al, you continue to amaze and impress me with you deviousness. We need you in Washington! LOL Beautiful pond and koi. I love koi because you can train them to come to you and eat out of your hand--and yes they are very long lived and in Japan can become part of the family and the estate for generations.
