    First one is my favourite...

    cattan, how could you kill phals in Malaysia? They're easy as anything..

    Well not all phals - just those imported from Taiwan, the ones grown in sphagnum in clear plastic pots that are sold in supermarkets and your boxstores (?). Species and those hybrids produced locally do quite well. BTW I've just bought 3 phals in bloom from a nursery during my recent holidays in our highlands; a white, a white with red lip and a dark pink. These are all bred locally by the nursery. I can tell you that it was very difficult to select these 3 from the 1000 or so in bloom. I've had success with the phals from this nursery.
