LOVE my Phals beware of orchid clips = bad bad

not if it is boiled and dried, and I suppose you could tie a bow if it is for a show, for aestetic purposes.

LOL yea, i suppose so...But the NZ judges are VERY picky. I had this massive phal (70 blooms in total on one spike) that wasnt put in the running for grand champ because i had used a bark that was 'too red' - red because it came from an old redwood on my friends farm, and EVERYONE knows what colour redwood bark is!.

i have the same clip like yours but i turn the teeth to the stick,instead to grab the plant.

I use large clips and as Bruce suggests keep moving them as the spike developes. One thing I don't like about them is that mealy bugs love to hide under them---a good reason to keep checking and moving them. Love your phals. They are lovely. For showing orchids I prefer raffia or other natural materials. They are more natural looking and much less obtrusive and have never been scored against for using them.

I use raffia those little clips scare me
