Hi everyone I just wanted to share this with everyone:
Got my Phal about 2 months back and unfortunately it was knocked on the floor out of its pot. The bark went one way, phal went the other and pot went spinning across the floor. I was planning on repotting it when it was necessary but my hand was forced in the end.
I soaked some bark from a bag of orchid compost I bought some time ago in a glass mixing bowl full of rainwater and potted it in a 6 inch transparent pot. It dropped two flowers (in protest I think) and sulked for a while. About a fortnight ago I noticed the root in the photo growing and now this wek a new leaf is coming from the crown!
I water my Phal every 7-10 days and use half strength Miracle Gro All Purpose soluble granules. Seems to be working:

Do you feed your phal everytime that you water? I just ask because I'm not sure if you are suposed to with phals. I feed mine every other watering so that's about twice a month at half strength. Lately I wonder if this is enough because the roots have stopped growing and the new leaves that have finnished growing are nowhere near as big as the old ones from when I got the plant a few months ago.
