Scarred leaves on Yucca - what's going on?

Hello fellow plant-lovers,
About a month ago I bought a yucca palm. It has since developed white speckles (scarring) on the youngest leaves. New growth emerges already speckled. I attached some pictures here for you to see. I hope you can help me identify the problem. Thanks a ton!

Hi Pauliina,
Looks to like your Yucca has Cercospora leaf spot.
You will need to stop the leaves from getting wet by misting etc etc as this spreads the spores and will encourage the conditions needed for them to germinate and infect leaves. there isnt any sure fire way of treating it but try thiophanate methyl as a starting point.

Thank you Jason. That's interesting as I don't spray or wet the leaves at all. It might have had it already in the store and I just didn't notice when I bought it. Thanks for giving a name for the condition. Now I can look up more info on it.

Good luck finding that stuff for sale, along with Yates DAS weedkiller, there were several substances banned about 3 months ago-this included for some stupid reason. DAS was the best! killed weeds in a heartbeat-it took one irrisponsible parent for it to be all over.......But a really good fungicide. Thanks Jason

I will ask one of the guys at work tommorow, but i would just use liquid copper on the yucca, just dont use it on your chids-they dont like Cu.

Looks like everything we find useful nowadays gets banned we can no longer get physan for one rubbish reason or another.

Thanks Jason and Jordan! I decided to move the yucca outside as it can take the great outdoors. I don't want my orchids to contract the fungus! I'll try cutting the affected leaves off first. I'm not a fan of -cides of any sort and try avoid using them if I can.

Atleast the liquid copper is ALL NATURAL Just like the liquid sulphur. PM me for the nursery location that i work for...
