When you are ready to repot, soak your plant in a bucket with warm water for about 10 minutes. Healthy keepable roots will be white or green. Anything brown or black remove with sharp scissors or clippers. Your local big box store will have a bag of orchid bark for cattleya, the wood baskets and what ever else you might need. There are several articles that go step by step with pictures. I'm sure if you look them up you will find what you need. Do not get nervous...plants are pretty hardy. Once you have done a few you realize it's pretty straightforward. Kill bugs, cut off bad stuff and put it into a new clean basket/pot and enjoy. When you are done, sit your orchid in lower light for a couple weeks and then watch it grow. I usually add a tiny amount of fertilizer and root hormone in my soak water. It helps the plant not shock from repotting and also gets those roots growing fast. Good Luck...
