I've had this dendrobe for about 6 months and this the second rebloom. I was hoping for more flowers before I posted but it has consistently produced 4 - 5 flowers per blooming, The flowers are quite big by dendrobium standards measuring 3 1/2 inches. This represents a new line of breeding from Thailand with more subdued pastel colours and that broad lip. Why 'Humming Butterfly' ? It doesn't hum but does look somewhat like a butterfly, I suppose. The flower stalk is very slender for the flowers of this size and so the spike is almost pendulous and with a slight breeze the blooms do look like butterflies settling on the stalk.

But i think this would hit off very well here, and get more newbies interested in the different species, hybrids and varieties. Enthusiasm is seriously lacking here in NZ.
