Congrats Cathy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks brilliant. You will need to alter your address now and call it Caths Kew & Orchid Garden Center. Your vanda babes look great housed together.
Stop biting your nails now! Your almost there. Was wondering bout your progress but cant keep up with the new posts, the gallery photo slideshow on homepage wont load pics for some reason and miss out on the latest.
Still love tthe organised chaos though with those root networks adding to the exotic feell.
Nice Shadehouse Cathy, i realy love it very neat.
It made me realize that i need to neatly place my plants hehehe.
Thanks much!
Brilliant, much more elegant and natural looking with the wood than pipe and I'm sure that it was originally the right size but you just added an orchid or two since you first planned it. The problem with these things is that you can keep on adding sections as you need them, pretty soon you won't have any yard at all, it will all be orchid shadehouse! - martha
Very nice and neat. Looking at yours makes me thinking, maybe I have to do something with mine.
It is really a mess. We just threw plants in there. The kids (not plant people in the least) were excited to see how it would look.
I'm going to go in and organize. There are little pockets of slight shade in a couple of spots and I want to make sure that is where I hang the aerides and rhynchostylis.
I'm going to move as many plants as I can out of baskets and on to hangers. It will free up space and also get rid of some thrip's hiding places.
I have to get plastic up at least on the roof in the next couple of weekends as winter is knocking on the door. We will have some high 50 degree nights in the next couple of days.
Thanks everyone...I'm so happy to get most of the vandas into one location.
Very nice Cathy, and great job on the measurements too!
I somehow think you wont hear the end of this anytime soon!
For the record, your Vandas look so neat and tidy! If only my orchid growspace was that tidy and organised!
Thanks JordanBut I've made sure that I did not photograph the mess everywhere!
Dont worry! our yard is probably 10 times worse! we had a huge dirt pile in our back yard that was there for 2 years-well, we finally moved it, icky spiders, concrete, dirt and all! Now we have a huge bare patch in the lawn-i thought i would make yet another garden lol.
then there is the doggy business, been to wet too go out and pick it up! poooh!![]()
and then there is all my orchid stuff. Pots, Bark, old pbulbs, old cymbidium leaves etc, its all part and parcel of the hobby![]()
I have the same issues that you have minus the old cymbidium leaves. It still makes me koo-koo to look at the mess!
