My favorite is the dragon - I love dragons. Second choice would be one of the flower designs. I had a Chinese associate who for a my birthday one year carved a watermelon as a dragons head, and put a candle in its mouth to make it snorting flame!

I watched a program on either Discovery or Nat. Geographic channel called Dragons , It was so good , At first I thought they had really found a dragon frozen in a cave , watched it 2 times and taped it , I believe there was such a thing, too many cultures talk of them for them to be not real .
I hope you took a picture of the dragon your assoc . carved that is a truly diffrent B day surprise Gin

Those are cool! We were on a cruise a few years ago and they carved several watermelons and other items for the midnight buffet. It was amazing. They had a workshop or "demo" anyway on how to do it with butter. It was very cool.

    Cheers!

Gin- Very cool link. My favorites were the turtle and lotus carvings.

Those are very pretty and interesting! I really like the flowers...can't imagine how much time it'll take to carve out every single little petal. Some things are too pretty to eat!
