    Default Some of my orchids

    Here are some of the orchids that bloomed this year, actually before I started expanding my collection. Promising for next year(s)...

    Name: IMG_0087.JPG Views: 329 Size: 136.0 KB
    My favorite, what I believe to be a Phal, with small flowers (2 inches each). There were 2 large spikes (see next pic), both with several sub-spikes, abundant with flowers when I bought it in May. It is still blooming now (6 months later!), although just one spike is left.

    A delicate yellow Phal.

    I am actually very proud of this one: it is only the second time I have managed to get a plant back to flowering. A simple Phal, but still. And yes, it is hanging from the ceiling!

    Just think of all the possibilities you have if you're willing to hang orchids from the ceiling - there's no end to the orchids who love hanging out in baskets and upside down!

    So cool!!! Maybe I should start hanging my orchids on the ceiling so I can get more! Very clever idea... All that I knew was growing Tomato TOE-MAY-TOEs Upside down...

    Alfred, my god, that looks awesome...maybe i should suggest this to dad seeing as he has a problem with all my orchids cluttering up the place!

    Thanks all!

    The upside down one sits in a pot from Boskke, which is made for this purpose. There is a reservoir in the top, that you can fill with a water pot. A plastic 'screen' keeps the bark etc. in place.

    It is suitable for all kinds of plants (I have 3 more), but we are all in here for the orchids, right? ;-)
