I scarcely dare even to look at this thing - it has TWO buds. I'm so afraid they'll blast before they open, any advice on its transition from greenhouse to southern exposure window would be greatly appreciated!

Woah - that's quite a doozy!
Don't know it, Maura, but LOVE the look of it. Pretty cool pot too! I would say just keep the light and humidity up and not move it around too much, ast least until the flowers are fully opened.
I hope Bigfoot is home to enjoy the blooms with you.
Cheers,
Tony
Looking forward to the blooms on this orchid and Phillips return to OrchidTalk.
cheers,

No idea how to transition it, but I really like the pot.
Nice plant, nice pot.I look forward to seeing the blooms & to Phillip's "return to the OT fold".
Can't help here. Don't grow any Angraecoids but friends who do, say that they grow under the same conditions as vandas. That is a really wonderful gift for Phillip when he comes home.
