    Cool Brassidium Gilded Urchin 'Ontario'

This is a primary cross between Brassia arcuigera X Oncidium wentworthianum. I recently split this one in half, removed a fern from it's potting and this half is already throwing spikes. It's not a difficult plant to grow and bloom.

That's really lovely Connie! My partner likes these Brassia types alot, but I've avoided them because I thought they were difficult to bloom. I may try this one out!Posted via Mobile Device

Has to be right up there in the wishlist. Brassias are a favourite to the point where Miltassias have been equally welcomed. A cracker and very beautiful in macabre kind of way!

The trick with these is to give them cattleya light levels. If you look at the older leaves, they are almost so light green to be called yellow. The heat makes them faint/or lay over...but they like it bright. I should have also mentioned...while I "thought" I removed the fern, it has popped back up in this pot. Oh, and not all plants like everyone...there are some that should do very well with me that just barely stay alive at times. I know the frustration of seeing someone call a plant easy that I've just turned into a sad looking shriveled mass. Some like me some don't...that's orchids! lol
