I would think this has been asked already but I haven't found it. I'm a bit confused with fertilzing when a plant is in spike. I've always watered on a regular basis with a weak solution. But I've read a couple of times about not using fertilizer with an orchid in spike since it may cause the bud to drop. When using a weak solution does it matter? I can't imagine that anyone with a huge collection of orhids could withhold fertilizer every time something is in spike. I have a Dendrochilum ready to bloom soon I hope. I also purchased 2 new orchids in bud. I've been able to flower a jewel orchid with how I've been doing things. I don't want to screw these ones up.
