As for the heron, I am glad he moved there.
Since I live by the Columbia River, which divides Washington and Oregon, the herons are everywhere. As a matter of fact, they ate Mike's Koi collection overnight one time about 5 years ago. Since then, he put fish lines all over the Koi pond so that the herons cannot fly in. Once in a while, a heron lands on the roof and watches them.

I keep telling him to put a Greenhouse over it so that we can both enjoy our hobbies.......
