Those colours and the lip are striking. I love it.
This orchid makes me laugh a little. haha... Looks like she is sticking out her tongue.
Cheers,

Beautiful, love this intense color!
A gorgeous bit of hybridising - it is s descendant of V.Paki by the way - which is also on the forum currently. Perreiraara is a combination of Aerides, Rhyncostylus and Vanda - I only have one of this combination, and its an unflowered very small seedling - but judging by this,I can look forward to a stunner.
Thanks Geoff. I've read that they can bloom 39 months from seed. Do you have this same cross? Or the much coveted 'Luke'? I have looked for Perreiraara Luke Thai 'Mike' forever!
Regrettably no, I don't. I know who bred it - he won't supply me in UK unless I buy a much larger quantity than is feasible for any amateur ( i.e. he will supply dealer's quantities). He came to London (Show) once, on a day when I couldn't get there - sold out in an hour or two - a friend bought the last plant , aand got an RHS/AM with it next year - what can I say - grrr... There are only two dealers in UK who import vandas at all ; one just gets a lot of boxes from Kultana, of whatever they want to send ; the other gets a minimum quantity from another Thailand nursery so there is not much chance of anything really interesting. Occasionally, we get some of the European people come here who are a bit more selective in their buys, but I don't think anyone in Europe actually buys from Florida . But...
Next January we are doing a cruise from UK ending in San Francisco , and so far we have not booked a stay or travel or flight home. Maybe I should think of a flight on somewhere (Florida ?) for a day or two , buy a few things, then fly home - but of course I have to organise CITES first, which takes a few weeks/months , and I don't want to make serious plans until I see how my wife does after her replacement hip operation; at present the prep' has included pep talks about she must walk as far as possible and as soon as possible after her op' - so I can "sell" any idea - short of doing a really serious walk like the Appalachian Trail or the Inca Way ..
But these are perhaps just pipe dreams.
My goodness...you know how happy I would be if I got boxes from Kultana
I neglected to mention that this plant has a fragrance that you will appreciate.
Coming to San Francisco you will hit orchid mecca for cyms and catts. ...but if want vanda types you have to come to Florida. I can give you a list to visit. South Florida (the Miami area) and Central Florida (the Orlando Area). I wish I had the money to travel like that. Its hard being just me and my orchids.
And for your wife's hip replacement. I've had two friends that had it done. It is a bear in the beginning. But they had them up and walking right away. I hope all goes well.
