Storm pictures and Encyclia tampense

I've seen pictures of your side of the bay, Connie. We are in pretty much the same scenario. I've been sitting in the closet twice in the past 2 days as we had a tornado touch down in Fishhawk twice and the weather radio went crazy. I was born in Tampa and the only thing that comes close to this is when hurricane Elena sat in the gulf just like TS Debby. The flooding is horrendous. The winds are battering every thing.
Glad to see you, Ron and the house made it through.

Connie, I am glad that nobody was hurt and your property was not damaged. Thanks God, you, your family and neighbors are OK. We were lucky tornadoes did not come close. I had a few horrible hours, though, waiting to leave for airport while this nasty weather (tornado warning etc) to pick up my husband. They switched tornado warning status to tornado watch by that time. But rains, o my gosh, they were dreadful and flooding in some areas around SR 54 is horrendous as Cathy said.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to see this! I'm glad you and yours are safe and healthy, hopefully the damage wasn't too extensive.

So sorry to hear about the damage but so glad no one was hurt. Looking at your pictures I can imagine the damage caused and the great amount of work needed to clean up the mess.

here's hoping this hurricane season isnt too bad! we're in the same boat over here, typhoon season is a big concern this year... we had a typhoon and a tropical storm at the same time last week and it is quite early! my mom and dad are still near the gulf coast but outside of new orleans now, they managed to ride out katrina with limited damage but it still worries me for all of us in the storm zones... fingers crossed! and has anyone else noticed an increase in tornadoes in our areas? my mom's area has been getting lots lately and taiwan has virtually only had a couple in recorded history yet we had a freak one occur last week ON A MOUNTAIN which i thought wasnt all that possible... strange ass weather!!!

Okay, while we have electricity i'm going to get a few pictures loaded. We are seriously blessed even though several of my vanda apparently flew away with the tornado. No one in our area was hurt.

We did not have problem with power but our home phone did not work for 30 or more hours.
Still, we have several warnings for our area for a few days.
I guess you have similar forecast.

I was wondering how my Florida neighbors were doing. Cathy and Natali, hang in there! We just had another squall go through. As long as the electricity stops going in and out i'll be happy. So far like I said earlier, we are definitely the lucky ones. One block over it is really bad. My husband says I need to go take pictures. I hope this is over soon. Everybody stay safe! Storm season...it's just beginning. Whee...
