Watering with Physan?

I just ordered some Physan because I live in a cooler climate and battle fungus in the wet weather. Someone in an earlier thread said you can actually water with it, but I don't see those instructions anywhere in the literature.

I see where it tells me how to treat a sick plant with it, and then it says to soak the media in it, but I don't want to uproot all of my plants to protect them from fungus.

Does anyone know how the "watering with Physan" thing works? Did I just miss something?

Some people water by dipping the pot into a pail, and you add your physan and fertilizer into the pail water. If you water with a hose, you will need to get a garden spray bottle. I use one that you put about a liter of water into, tightly seal the sprayer/top, and then pump to pressurize and spray. Your can also use an inexpensive spray bottle from the dollar store. I make my mix in an old plastic ice tea jug that holds 2 quarts of liquid. I mix everything up, fill my spray bottle and spray my mix onto the leaves and top of potting. I sometimes mix bug stuff, anti fungal, and fertilizer all in the same jug as it saves time. If I have extra left over I pour it on the yard plants. It gives them a boost and some bug protection too.

You can pour the water with physan into the pot just like you would fertilize. If you don't want to waste it you can put it in a plastic bucket and soak each pot in it. Then I use a little hand sprayer to spray the entire plant. I use one teaspoon per gallon every one or two months. If you already have a fungus problem you can increase it to two teaspoons per gallon.

yep u can...thats actually better to attack the spores in the growing medium............i have roach problems outdoors!!! i water with Fendona and wet they whole area....ANY insect touches it die in minutes....residual and harmless to anything else.....

By the way, always fill the container with water first and then put the Physan into it. If you put the Physan in first and add water it will make so many bubbles that you'll never be able to get the water into the container.

Ahhh...I'm glad for that little tidbit of info! I was just about to mix up a batch, but I thought I'd double-check here in case anyone else had anything to add. Wouldn't you know...I was going to put the Physan in first! LOL So glad I popped back in to check! Thank you!!

Have any of you used Phyton 27? If so were you pleased with the results and what amount did you use per gallon of water. The directions I have are in punces and I am horrible at conversion. LOL

Bill- Ive never used it but as far as measuring goes, I use a little glass dosing cup. You can get them at any pharmacy and they are marked in multiple units. Small though. If you measure by cups, 1 cup is eight ounces. 1 tablespoon is half an ounce.
