Welcome. In the Winter the sun is low in the sky and not all that hot. I have all my orchids in East and South facing windows all Winter long. At this time of year and this far north in the U.S. that means they get approximately 3-4 hours of direct sunlight when the sun is shining which is not every day. They are all thriving. Move your orchid to a window that gets direct sunlight, it won't suffer in Scotland at this time of year since you have such short daylight hours in the Winter.
