Removed a bloom from one of our Phal's and much to our surprise a keiki started growing (I never even knew what it was until I used Google!)

Way too go and what a beautiful baby it is!
That's the most awesome thing! Cool! Congrats!

i have my first phal keiki growing now too, and it also had flowers growing from its first few leaves. i think technically they are growing form the stem form the mother plant, as there is no stem coming form the keiki. it should be harmless. mine eventually faded, but the keiki is still growing and has some roots now. and the mother plant has a new spike beginning to open more flowers. does not seem to have bothered the mother of the baby plant.
Thanks![]()
Congrats! i have never had a keiki grow!
I think you only need to worry about the flowers if the mother plant appears to be struggling to provide enough energy to keep the keiki growing as well as the blooms. Your plant appears to be so unbelievably happy that it's making a baby AND throwing itself a party in the process!! So hats off to you for good growing!!
What a beautiful plant--mommy and baby!!
