    Default maggots on flowering buds

    help please..how can i solve this problem with my orchids?

    Hi Vilma,

    Picture of the bud/flower would help. is it there only on the bud or on the leaves (check under the leaves and roots) also?. you could try spraying a insecticidal soap or a jet of water from a sprayer would get rid of them.

    I have never heard of maggots on blooms?

    Probably aphids. Wash them off with a stream of water or use insecticidal soap.

    If aphids one need to treat three times with commercial insecticidal oil or soap, every 2 weeks, for more will hatch. Vilma are you having this problem with an isolated orchid or many?
