We orchid addicts are a pretty tame bunch.
Akin to my friend who was convicted of tailgating (when he wasn't even!)
Such hardened criminals!
Congratulations on the rescue! I love your husband's pheromone idea. It has to be something that causes this addiction.

@ Terry. Tailgating as in partying or tailgating as in following too closely to the car in front of him?
My mother was convicted of jay walking. Tsk tsk
@ Traci. I don't know anything about the "tailgating" Harvey is talking about... (he's so far out there he has to come in to go hunting!) As for your Mom, watch out! She may be a bad seed. Tsk tsk indeed!
Harvey, "We orchid addicts are a pretty tame bunch."? - I tried to buy an orchid the other day, while someone else was looking at it too and I thought I was gonna get assaulted!
Terry - maybe they didn't like the way you were looking at the one in their cart! I know how orchid addicts work! LOL
*I* wasn't the one trying to steal an orchid off their cart!! LOL

Haha! I never have the problem of orchid envy when shopping, mostly because we don't have any stores that I know of except the ones in which orchids end up on the clearance rack (ok, and they have some bag babies too).
So I'm always the only person there poking at the drenched sphag to see if there are any viable roots left (a lesson I learned after buying this little guy). I pour the excess water out of the pots with no drainage and move the Phals from the top rack (where they sit in full sun!) so that they might have a chance until the next rescuer walks by. If only I could repot and fertilize them too! Typing this out makes me realize I have a problem.
I did ask the sales person there when they will restock orchids. In a few weeks I may have to go on a shopping spree. Of course, new stock does mean there will be more clearance orchids too, hehehe.
Good thing I don't live in or near a real town!![]()
