We had a light rain/snow event this morning and the plants have been encased in quite large ice crystals. I wish I had gone out earlier to image it. Lots has melted.

Oh, how pretty!
So far its been a very mild winter here, after a real cold snap in the fall. It's rained a lot, which is appreciated, though 40's and mud is a bit messy and not very pretty!![]()
Local news says it is formed due to ice fog.
Nice pic but you can keep the cold--i hate it--glad never cold here![]()
Beautiful...but i'm glad there's none here or else...many plants will die. Especially my babies.
Here's another interesting photo for you, but this is not a picture of ice, but taken with a filter blocking all but infrared:

Ice fog can do some remarkable things.
But cold? You people are funny. If you know what a real winter is you also know that ice crystals like that happen when it is relatively warm!
It was between 25 and 31 F yesterday when these ice crystals formed.
