Renanthera imschootiana

I have been buying Renanthera for a couple years now. Seeing this one in bloom made my morning. I hear they should have a sweet scent, but mine has none so far. When it is done blooming I may transfer it to a piece of wood, then again if it has no issues I may just leave it alone. Some vanda types just hate being repotted.

Awesome. It is fondly called red vanda here and is a slow grower. It usually blooms in April/May here.

My Renanthera grow slow. They also need to be sprayed for fungal infections pretty regular or they have issues and don't bloom for me. This particular plant arrived a couple months ago and surprised with with this spike right away. So this one must be a little easier to bloom than some.
