Help - rot? on Monn Millenium Magic "Witchcraft"

Hello forum!
I bought this Monn Millenium Magic "Witchcraft" online and received it on June 11. when i received the oldest PB did not show any sign thats something worng with it. But today i noticed that one side is yellow and its kind of soft.
please see pic: ad photo, and todays


Do i need to repot it and separate old PB from others ASAP?
What is your thought what it is?

Good buy. Check the state of the roots. this looks like a oldest pseudobulb. you can cut off the rotting pseudobulb and apply cinnamon to the wound.

If you cut and the smell is horrible better separate them into the new media dont forget to apply any fungicide.

indeed it was a good buy!
So I unpotted it , and looks like it was topped up with fresh bark, dipper inside the pot it was bark in kind of OKish condition but inside the roots it was moss . I guess seller water it before shipping and probably It was hot while it was traveling from WI to NY and maybe rot got started. It did not smell bad to me, or maybe my senses does not work so good )
So I remove all moss and root look not bed. I did my best not to break the roots.

This PB does not look great to me, I think it started to yellow too... do I have to remove it too or let it be for now?


I soak the root mass in physan before and after cleaning. hope it helps cause I don't have other fungicide handy.

Question can I leave it unspotted till tomorrow evening? Im soaking bark right now, and I will need to grind it I guess to make smaller size (it will take few days if to order fine size bark).
Do I need to mix it with moss again??! I would prefer not to.

there was also little old bulb, it god disconnected from all. roots mostly damaged. Should I pot it too or just say good bye to it?

Roots look very healthy. wrap the roots in a dry newspaper and I think it can wait till tom evening. Don't use moss. only bark would be good. I would try sphag and bag for rotten pseudobulb. chance is minimal but just in case you can have an extra plant and may be you can keep it for me

If i will be able to save this plant and will give me new PB, i will definitely keep one for you! How many will be necessary for good division?

I think, 1-2 pseudobulbs would be good enough. I remember catesetum-ian mentioning that. all the very best.

glad you removed the rotting PB.
well, i would treat the plant with systemic fungicide. the yellowish green color of the PB in the last pic of thread #4, and also the brown streak of the PB behind it, are signs of fungal disease.

concur with ksriramkumar, 1 to 2 bulb would suffice. but for your plant in this post, i would go for 2 bulb per division.

How would you suggest to treat it? Spray it? Soak?
About brown streak , if you talk about one on the right than its just cinnamon i applied after removing leaf.

i highlighted the brown streak that i mean in the pic attached.
i have no experience with physan but i heard that i had a broad spectrum of activity. but most important of all if it says it is a SYSTEMIC FUNGICIDE, then it would do. i use a combo of systemic and topical most of the time, benomyl and mancozeb active ingredient in it.

and i usually soaked affected or newly purchased plant in it for fifteen to thirty minutes
