Pollination update: Failed. The two unopened buds became brown and the browning progressed along the spike taking down the two flowers. It is very hot nowadays during the afternoon. Maybe the spike just could not take the high temperature.

I have a couple pure Christensonia vietnamica and let me just say those things can go full Florida sun and not flinch. I also have the same cross you do with it. The hybrid is like yours and loses buds every time. I've never had much luck with the denisoniana and suspect it is the culprit of the difficult buds. You may need to be careful and keep the buds dry when it's hot. For me, heat and wet buds have often ruined a spike on "sensitive" type vandas. Also; if you spray and get stuff on the buds they will brown as well. I wish I could help with the crossing info, but don't do that myself.
