I think that one is worthwhile. Rescuing phals can give novices good experience for dealing with future problems as well as learning basic orchid culture. That's how I got hooked - bringing phals back to life. Maybe once you have more orchids than you know what to do with then maybe they aren't worth the trouble.

Learned an awful lot by taking plants off the clearance table. Far better to learn with a 3$ investment than a $30 one.
