I have a root growing out the top of my orchid

My orchids stem at the top has 2 new leaves and a couple of roots anyone else had this. What shall I do?

Assuming you’re referring to a phalaenopsis, and there is a small plant growing from it, that is a keiki (pronounced Kay-kee, Hawaiian for “baby”), and is an entirely new plant.

When the roots have reached a total length of 3”-4”, whether that be one root of that length or several that, combined, are that long, it can be snapped of the flower spike and potted up on its own.

You are doing great! Post up a photo before you get ready to remove the baby plant. I made a video about doing this with a dendrobium orchid. Take a look for an idea about removing the baby plant when it is ready.
