I think it is. It's not the best blooming for this plant, as the bud was wedged between two pots and opened smooshed up between them. So i think that had this not happened, the bloom would have been much more 'open'

That is cool. Do you stake your blooms Lien, or just let them do what the will naturally?

I almost never stake them. I'm not sure you can see it that well, but the photo with the leaves, you can see the flower is hanging over the side of the pot.

Yes, that is why I asked. I think it is nice, but many of my friends who are big into showing orchids are fairly hard-nosed about staking the spike from the beginning (as soon as it is able to be staked). I think the natural look has a better aesthetic. We stake some of our plants just to keep them from getting broken during watering, etc.

This is loverly!!! And I agree about the naturale look... there is something much more pleasing about seeing these as mother nature intended them to be...
