Does anyone else get jealous at the thought of all these wonderful plants being grown in the driveway?
I just acquired a five-acre lot in the foothills (1500 feet above sea level) that is being prepared to eventually serve as my orchid haven. A number of plants are in temporary "board" in a neighbor's small coffee plantation there, plus some more in temporary storage in the mountains...
I think a forum field trip is in order, once Nelson's new facility is up and settled!

I made some selfings because this is my only odorata in bloom at the moment, and I also did four Aerides odorata var calayana x Vanda merrillii. I look forward to some really dark red aerides.
I will know the results a few days from now.
The selfing I did for Vanda javierae last week resulted in a pregnancy. I hope it carries to term, probably around December.
Do you use a commercial lab for flasking, Nelson, or do you do it yourself? I'm guessing you have access to a sterile hood.
