My all-time favorite catt. I can't resist posting a new picture of this every time it blooms. April and September are usual, but it's a little late this year.

Oh, I don't blame you--that's fabulous! Of course, it's beautiful--what else makes it your all time favorite? Is it a standard? (I'm trying to develop a wish list of catts.)
It;s orange!!!!

I would be proud of that plant too, she's beautiful! Judi
Yes, a true beauty!

Oh..it's far from a standard. Mature p-bulbs are only about 5" tall (including the leaf!) and the flowers have a spread of almost 3"! They truly dwarf the plant. I really like SLCs...small plants, big brightly colored flowers of good substance...
As far as what makes it my favorite catt:
1. Flower size is huge compared to plant size
2. I am partial to red and orange
3. I love the patterns in the lip
4. This plant is easy growing and blooms twice a year
This plant is featured on the Table of Contents page of Orchids Through our Eyes. I took the picture in the book a couple of years ago.
The cross is Slc. Fire Lighter x Lc. Trick or Treat.
It's a little beauty! Sounds like a perfect orchid too.
the colour! I can see why you like it
that is very lovely ...great lip!!!!
Eyepopping color. You can't stop looking at it! Good points on your list, too. I'm still in the "Orchid? I'll take it." stage![]()
