Phal--Pink Leaves

A couple of my recently de-compoted phals have started to get pink leaves. They are from two different crosses and strangely--some of their "siblings" who were taken from the same compots and potted into the same media are doing just fine.

My guess is that the pink leaves means some are too hot and not staying moist enough. What do you think? Here are some pics.

Also, I just got in the mail today some SuperThrive. Would that help this little guys?

I don't think the Super Thrive will help the leaves , will probably lose the leaves. .
What are you feeding them ? sometimes a lack of trace elements in the fert. will cause the leaves to go red .
But looks like sunburn to me too . Gin

Hmm -- I wouldn't have thought of sunburn. They are pretty far from the window. I will try putting up the sheer curtains and see if that helps.

Gin, I use Dyna-Grow 7-9-5 at 1/4 tsp/gallon no more than once every two weeks. Surely that wouldn't be burning the little guys, would it?

I am as clear as mud sometimes lol . I have read a lack of trace elements can cause the leaves to go red .
No don't think it is from that or to much Fert. Still think sun burn I have it on a couple of older Phals . in the greenhouse did not think there was that much sun on them , thier neighbors did not burn . Gin

I am sure you and Bruce are right. I just hadn't considered that because as you say -- their neighboring phals and even phals from the same cross and compot weren't burning. I guess these two are just sensitive types.

...must just be orchid evolution...weeding out the sensitive types until we enthusiasts invent some type of orchid sunblock to keep them alive!
