Mold on plants in S/H

Hi all!

I have a quick question for everyone; not just S/H growers - this morning I spotted some yucky white fuzzy mold on a few of my plants; mostly growing at the base of the plants. It appears like little white dots towards the crown of the plants. I have good air movement, and I definitely don't overwater bc most of the plants are in S/H. Is there any good chemical/fungicide that might help get rid of the mold that you would recommend?

The best way to address mold growth (specially in S/H) is to flush them regularly with water.
Just topping off the pots up to the reservoir would not be enough to purge any undesirable spores from the media.
They need a real shower regularly and not just some light sprinkles

Physan 20 would also be a good first step since it also kills fungal growths.

Little white fuzz near the crown of a plant might not be mold...could be immature scale or mealies. Mold will grow on media but you have big problems if it is growing on the plants. I would use Physan on media if I suspect mold.

you should look really close under a magnifying glass and see if it is little mushrooms..we had some growing on our keikis and i had it analyzed and they were harmess just because of constantly fertilizing/watering and humidity.. despite good air movement.. if you do want a good fungicide aside from Physan try Rhapsody. it is a fairly new product that is a bacillus strain and organic!

as above, and be sure it's not mealies. a few times I see some white powder like junk and looking closely there's a couple bugs on the foliage.
