From the picture you can see that it is still green, but I'm not whether or not it will stop at the joint the top arrow is pointing at. The leopard looking wrap is normal for this plant as you can see from the other p-bulb.
I does seem to look reasonably healthy after removing the mushy black stuff. I'll get the pruning gear ready but it might survive if the rot stops where it is now.
Will the rest turn black also if it continues to rot or will it just happen internally? This of course is very dangerous.
Is there anything the plant will do with this stumb if I decide to leave it on (of course if it doesn't continue to rot)?
