Howeara Lava Burst 'Puanani' AM/AOS

An interesting update on this one. It was in full bloom this last weekend so I took it in to our orchid society meeting on Monday to place on the show table. Our guest speaker, Mario Ferrusi went through the show table and recommended which orchids should go to the Toronto show to be in our club's exhibit. He got to my Howeara Lava Burst and said that it should definitely go to the show.

I'm rather shocked because I thought this plant didn't look as stunning as many other
at the show table. So I guess the moral of the story is to not be afraid to show off
your plants even if you are a newbie.

It's always a great boost to your morale when you get a compliment like that. It makes you want to keep trying to do better with your plants. I felt the same when an AOS orchid judge asked for pollen from my plant to use in her breeding program. Keep up the good work.
