    Thanks for the advice. I think I'll try the rotating the next time I have buds. I really hate to touch them with anything like a stake. Since I bought this one in bloom last summer and it is blooming again, I am hoping for another flowering this year.

    Enjoy your beautiful rewards of good culture, Paula. Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Upside down or right side up - who cares if you are pleased. I am always thankful for beautiful blooms. Staking early is the best way to make sure that all the blooms face the same direction, but sometimes it is fun to leave everything up to nature and see what happens.

    Congreats, Paula. As others have pointed out, orchids can be ornery that way. Another thing that can be done is the placement of a cottonball or something similar between buds to gentle push them apart as they develop.
