I have to admit, the only special treatment they get from us is the RO water - well that and the big tank. They are a bit shy sometimes though, and we have just had to get rid of some congo tetras that were spooking them.



Other than that, they seem to be very happy with corys, cardinal tetras and penguin tetras.

Yup, just the same with orchids. Once you understand a few basic needs they are not hard at all. Talk to someone that tried once and failed and you will just KNOW it is impossible for EVERYONE to do it.

I would love angels one day, but they appear to be a big no no in the discus world - although no one ever says why!

I believe it is because Angels are nippers and harrass the Discus.

I have a music friend that went whole hog on his amazon tank. CO2 injector, High Discharge lights, Live Plants, Logs and you name it. His discus are delightful. If I remember I will snap a picture and post it. They also have a salt water setup that is HUGE!
