I am not really a red orchid lover - a few deep reds catch my eye every now and then, but this orchid promises to be spectacular. It has 7 spikes and 67 buds (as best I can count).

It is a cross of C. Rojo (C. aurantiaca x C. milleri) and Enc. cordigera (or, as I'm told, confusingly, Epidendrum cordigerum). I imagine that it's named after someone who is coincidentally named the same as the Peanuts cartoon character. However, I don't like it one bit. Maybe I'll slip a hint to the taxonomy boys that it's undignified.

I have seen some photos of it, and the really interesting thing is how closely it resembles my mystery orange C. aurantiaca orchid (http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchid...m-finally.html). I hope it blooms half as well - it's in shock coming from Florida to Atlanta - I know I am!
