New orchid, yet another question.

Hi again, i have another question about my new orchid, firstly i still cant quite id it so was wondering if anyone could help? the front, large, lip like petal fell off unfortunately but it was covered in purple/red spots like the rest of them.
Secondly i was wondering if it is normal for the leaves of the plant to bend downwards? They are very large leaves and look healthy but they just sort of hang.

I think it might be either a Vuylstekeara Cambria or a miltassia but they both look very similar

I am sure someone will know which it is, we have a smart bunch around here. Although I don't know what kind it is exactly, but it looks like one big healthy oncidium to me. The leaves look great. Many of these plants look awful, yours is gorgeous!

It's a Miltassia...and it looks very healthy to boot! Leaf "hang" is quite normal in the oncid-types.

If anyone could give me any more info about caring for this beautiful plant it would be much appreciated

It is just about to finish blooming and i was wondering if i should cut the spike? If so should i cut off the whole spike or just some of it?

I always cut off the whole spike. It gives the plant a chance to recoup and gain some strength for next seasons bloom.

Thank you for the advice, I will cut it at the base as soon as the last flower is finished. Hopefully it will flower again soon

I have been checking the spike and it has a leave wrapped round the base which appears to be sealed tightly, should i try and peel the leave off or just cut them both off together? Also noticed that I have a lovely new clump of leaves growing in the center of the rest of them
