New Orchid question about new buds falling off

Hi, i just bought a new Phalaenopsis, at the grocery store, first thing i did was read the new grower FAQ, and noticed the orchid base was sitting in water, so i corrected that and dindt let it stand in water. so now im noticeing the new buds which havent bloomed yet are falling off! why is this and how can i retain the flowring plant as much as possible? the leaves look bright green and happy, and its a small plant, in a small potted in bark pot. i have it in a north facing windo sill which gets humidity from nearby shower and toilet in the bathroom and vent blowing air onto it intermitantly.

The vent blowing air on it is probably the reason that the buds are falling off. Bud are not a big fan of 'conditioned' air. A fan blowing on them is fine, but heated or cooled air will cause the buds to blast. Make sure the media drys out so that the roots do not rot and get it away from your heating/cooling vent.
