Native to Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama in wet lower montane evergreen to semi-deciduous forests from elevations of 1200 to 1500 meters in full to partial sun. It is long bloomer. This one is just a seedling that was part of a Christmas gift from a forum friend.

the flowers are about an inch tall, counting that big lip. It is only a seedling so I am not sure how big the plant is going to get. At this time I only have one growth that is 3" tall. So far the flowers have been open for a month.

I had one of those once *sigh* It did not enjoy life on my plant stand. Not sure if the lack humidity was an issue

While they do start blooming at a small size they can get very tall. This is part do to their tendency to form keikis at the tops of older canes and later the keikis form keikis, and........

Nice bloom, it seems very epidendrum like in it's flower characteristics and growth habit.
