Being watched

I had a feeling I was being watched. I turned and fortunately I had my camera bag in hand. I got a couple of pics from a distance before the second one, that I didn't see, took off and this young one followed.



It must be spring. The ice is off the pond and snow is finally gone this week. I saw my first Hepatica in bloom and my first dandelion. Watched a piliated Woodpecker busy on a dead stump yesterday. This morning a wild turkey trotted in the back yard and now the deer.

ICE??? Boy I am sure glad you guys like that kind of weather - we're full up here in California. Cute deer, we get them around here (white tailed) - everyone hates them because they come right up and eat your plants. My folks get wild turkeys around their place - they are already doing the displays..

I don't mind winter. It can be beautiful but it is just way too long in this area. I would prefer 3 months of it but there are years it can come in Nov and leave in April.

How beautiful--is that your back yard? Wow!

It's actually my front yard. The house sits back in the property about 200 feet and the house is oriented to the pond and not the road. That is the view from my living room window. Of course the pond is more distant but I was using the telephoto zoom and then cropped to the deer.

A nice venison loin on the grill is always a good treat but I don't hunt, except with my camera. I usually get some venison from friends though.
