Paph. ciliolare

somewhat uncommon these days. not a particularly well-colored species, but rather unique if you ask me.



First introduced in 1882 and native to a small area in the Philippines, Paph. ciliolare is noted for its dark, heavily-warted, and rather sombre flowers. It has in the past been classified as a subspecies of Paph. superbiens, to which it shares some resemblance, but is now generally considered a distinct species in its own right. Paph. ciliolare prefers intermediate to warm conditions and bright dappled light, and tends to bloom during the spring months.

absolutely fantastic!!! Not as dark as some maybe, but the green in it gives a very pleasing contrast... oh, and that dorsal is to die for!!!
