    Default Cymbidium sinense

    I bought 3 of these from China, one yellow, one red, and this one. The yellow did very well and put out 2 spikes that I didn't notice until they were just about done. This guy only has the one bloom, but it is lovely and lightly fragrant. Hopefully next year I will have all 3 bloom. Flower is about 2 1/2 inches.

    Beautiful! I didn't know they had such a variety of color--I've only seen yellow sinense. Yours is lovely!

    Oh that is lvely! I would have to keep a close watch with that green flower or I would miss the blooming. lol!

    Sneaky! That green bloom could hide itself away in the foliage, if you didn't have sharp eyes!

    Diane -- it is lovely. How do you grow these? I just got one as a gift from a vendor at our show for helping them schlepp boxes. I love them, but haven't ever had one. Any pointers would be much appreciated.

    They are quite tolerant.. Temps up to 90s and down to 35, as long as no frost. Fert with regular from after buds set until September, then use bloom fert. Water when just dry. Filtered bright light works best for me in Calif.
